Race Results

Put results on the club website as links or PDFs, so members and visitors find them in one place.

What it does

Race Results integrates with the two scoring systems most UK and Irish sailing clubs already use — Sailwave and HalSail — and displays live standings directly on your club website. Administrators add named result sets (one per series, regatta, or championship), point each at the corresponding Sailwave or HalSail source, and the live results render embedded on the club site with no redirect to a third-party viewer.

Members and visitors browse the list, click any series, and see the standings as they update. Corrected times, protest outcomes, and late entries flow through automatically — once the race officer republishes from Sailwave or updates HalSail, the club page reflects the new data with no additional publishing step. The active/inactive toggle moves off-season results out of the main list without deleting them, and no member login is required so visiting competitors, class associations, and press can read results without asking the secretary for a link.

What sells it

  • Sailwave integration — admin-managed list of result sets, each linked to a published Sailwave URL; the most widely used scoring system in UK and Irish clubs (see the dedicated Sailwave integration page for the race-officer workflow)
  • HalSail integration — live series and event dropdowns, overall standings, and per-race breakdowns displayed directly on your site (used by East Down Yacht Club and others running keelboat handicap series; see the HalSail integration page for detail)
  • Embedded on your domain — no redirect to a third-party site; members stay on the club site to read results
  • Automatic updates — corrected times and protest outcomes appear on the public page as soon as the underlying source is updated
  • Active / inactive toggle per result set — archive past seasons without deleting them
  • Public access by default — no member login required, so visiting competitors, families, and class associations can see results without admin intervention
  • Open in new tab option for full-screen viewing on a clubhouse display

Why this matters

Emailing a PDF results sheet or posting a screenshot to Facebook is one-way communication — members can't check a specific boat across multiple races or compare scores without opening the attachment. Embedded live results give every interested party the same accurate, current information on any device. Supporting both Sailwave and HalSail means the platform fits whichever system your race officer already uses — no migration, no retraining.

Frequently asked questions

Those are the two scoring systems with built-in integrations. Sailwave is the most widely used in UK and Irish sailing clubs; HalSail is common at clubs running keelboat handicap series. If you use a different tool, you would need to publish results to a URL that can be embedded in an iframe — direct integration with other scoring programmes is not currently built in.
